Headquarters Building

cubicals

The Georgia Firefighters' Pension Fund has completed the construction on its new headquarters facility, located in the Quigg Branch Office Park off Highway 138, just north of Interstate 20 East, in Conyers, Georgia. Completed in February of 2006, the facility has replaced the old headquarters owned and occupied by the Fund since 1970. Clearly, over the course of 35 years, the Fund has outgrown the old building, which at 3500 square feet, barely houses the staff of six plus the systems and files needed to support our nearly 15,000 members.

The new building boasts approximately 10,000 square feet with up to-date internal systems, communications and information technology. It features all masonry and steel construction with the latest in fire retardation and suppression technology. Additionally, it is a relatively simple and economical structure: a center-hall super structure with two wings and main systems down the center feeding each of the wings.

Recognizing the growing responsibility of the fire service relative to first response and homeland security and the increasing sophistication of fire departments throughout the State, this facility is prepared for a growing responsibility and increasing participation in the fire service. It will accommodate, over time, one senior executive, up to seven manager/professionals, at least seven clerical staffers and two admin support personnel. It has been designed to meet the needs of the pension fund for a very long time.
